I had the privilege of knowing Mike Savage as a friend, and a working colleague, and his enthusiasm for Isle of Man motorcycle racing, and in particular the TT races is captured in this book.

We all have our first memories of this wonderful event, and Mike's are clearly defined in the book. Also, we all have our favourite riders from 90 years - and Mike's selection may not agree with yours, or indeed mine, but the research he has obviously carried out to present his case is quite remarkable. There are certainly facts that are completely new to me and they make fascinating reading and show a rare insight to the riders he has selected.
Sadly, his familiar figure is not here now, and is greatly missed. This book, however, ensures that his contribution to the TT will not be forgotten. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did.
