1998 saw the 75th Anniversary of the Manx Grand Prix Races, held every August on the TT Mountain Circuit. This book details the history of the Manx Grand Prix from it's early days as the Amateur TT to the 1997 races.
Every race, from the three-lap Amateur Road Race Championship in 1923, won by Les Randles (Sunbeam), through to the 1997 Senior Manx Grand Prix, with Gary Carswell (Wilson & Collins Kawasaki) the victor, is chronicled, together with race details of every rider who has started in the Manx Grand Prix.
1952 Junior Manx. Bob McIntyre (A.J.S.) leads Harold Clark (A.J.S.) into Ginger Hall. At this point in the race, Clark was leading Bob by 40 seconds, but suffered clutch slip later in the race, allowing Bob to win by 39.6 seconds. Bob went on to finish second in the Senior Manx on the same machine.
