How do I connect to and play on MCB.NETS Flightsim 98 server ?
This section will explain how to obtain the files required to play Microsoft Flight Simulator 98 on MCB.NETS games server.
Flight Simulator 98 on the MCB.NET games server uses scenery designed by John Woodside, http://homepages.mcb.net/bones which features the Isle of Man, Ronaldsway, Jurby and Andreas airports, towns and villages, roadways, terminal buildings and hangars at all three airports and dynamic traffic including a ferry off the point of ayre.
First of all you will need to purchase Microsoft Flight Simulator 98 and install this on to your computer.
When the Software is installed I would suggest that you visit our FTP server, ftp.mcb.net/pub/dist/FS98 and download the following files:
fs98pat1.exe Bug fix patches for FS98
ewdemo.zip Isle of Man scenery pack, Required for the MCB.NET server - For a full review of this package and others available in the range visit John Woodside's homepages
fs6ipc61.zip A required file for FS98 addons
Now that you have downloaded and installed the files you can connect to MCB.NET and join the crowded skies over the Isle of Man.
Start Flightsim 98 and select multiplayer, follow the instructions through entering your name and call sign, select TCP/Internet game and Join existing session. The IP address of the MCB.NET Flightsim 98 Games server is 195.10.105.251.
When you connect you will find yourself at the preset default airport, click on world and goto then airport, now from this list search for the scenery pack you installed and select Ronaldsway.
Thanks to John Woodside for allowing us to use his excellent Isle of Man scenery package. visit his website at - http://homepages.mcb.net/bones and also http://www.vfrscenery.com/
