Setting up your Mac
| 1. Click on the Apple menu icon. 2. Select "Internet Access" and then choose "Internet Setup Assistant". The Internet Setup Assistant should now appear. 3. Enter a connection name. 4. Check you are using the correct modem. 5. Click the RIGHT ARROW. 6. Enter the dial up telephone number as shown on your connection sheet 7. Enter your dial up user name. 8. Enter your dial up password. 9. Click the RIGHT ARROW. 10. In name servers enter the following IP addresses. 195.10.96.2 and 194.72.6.52 for the secondary 11. The domain name should be mcb.net 12. Click the RIGHT ARROW. 13. Enter your full email address in lower case, e.g. myname@mcb.net 14. Enter your email password. 15. Click the RIGHT ARROW. 16. Enter your email account name with a * replacing the @, e.g. myname*mcb.net followed by @mcb.net This should look like name@mcb.net 17. SMTP server should be entered as mail.mcb.net 18. Click the RIGHT ARROW 19. Enter your news server information (NNTP) as news.mcb.net 20. Click the RIGHT ARROW 21. We do use a proxy server, the address is webservice.mcb.net and the port number is 3128. 22. Click on the RIGHT ARROW to go onto the next screen. Your Internet Connection is now configured. Select "Go ahead" to finish. If this does not work re-check your settings. |
